Roy H. Neece, 86, passed away March 17, 2015 at home in Lake Havasu
City. Roy was born Sept. 6, 1928, in Wood River, Ill. Roy served six
years in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He moved his family from
Decatur, Ill. to Lake Havasu City in 1971. He is survived by two sons,
Greg (Sharon) Neece of Lake Havasu City and Doug Neece of Illinois; a
granddaughter, Ciara (Jesse) Thompson; grandson, Troy Neece and great-
granddaughter Charlotte Thompson. Roy also is survived by many nieces
and nephews with whom he kept in touch.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Cecil Neece; brother,
Robert and sister, Betty.
Roy loved his family and living in Lake Havasu City. In January, Roy
celebrated 19 years of sobriety. He lived for helping people who came
to the meetings and it gave him a purpose to keep living. There will
be an informal gathering of friends and family at 6 p.m., Friday, at
Rotary Park at Ramada 1 and 2 (by the channel). Donations for a park
bench in his memory will be collected. Roy was loved by many and will
be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Arrangements are under the care of Lake Havasu Mortuary & Crematory,
veteran and family owned.
