Louis J. Hawkins, age 80, of Medina, Ohio, peacefully passed away in
the Polidori Hospice House, Lake Havasu City, Arizona on Wednesday,
February 25, 2015. He was born on February 11, 1935 in Marion County,
WV to the late Lewis George and Frances Rose Kabulski Hawkins. He was

After retiring from General Motors in Cleveland, Ohio with 33 years of
service, Lou and his wife owned and operated a Subway store, selling
it later. Lou said his “best job ever” was driving for BVIP Limousine
in Medina, Ohio and requests for the driver “Lucky Lou” were numerous.

Lou lived life to the max, every day. You only had to meet him once
and he left a memorable impression on you. He had a passion for
singing “crooner” songs at Karaoke where audiences not only enjoyed,
but commented on his talent. Lou spent many hours on Lake Erie with
his wife, family and friends fishing and cruising to the Islands and
different destinations on the lake. Lou was an avid golfer. While on
vacations, he tried different courses and Mount Massive in Colorado
and the Grand Tetons in Wyoming were memories he shared with family
and friends. He also enjoyed playing cards with friends at Gallagher’s
while wintering in Lake Havasu.

Lou had a big heart filled with love for his wife and his children,
Debra, Randy, Donna and their families. The time spent talking to and
being with all of them was important and special. He will always be
close in heart and loved forever. Lou was predeceased by his parents,
and brother, Ronald Hawkins of West Virginia. Survived by, wife, Dawn
(Gilbert) Hawkins, son, Randy (Mary Lou) Hawkins, daughters, Debra
(Paul) Lorson and Donna Hawkins. Grandchildren; Mindy, Crystal,
Melanie, Paul and Alan. Great grandchildren: Adriana, Evan, Allilyn,
Jace and Bentley.

In keeping with Lou’s wishes, his ashes will be taken to his chosen
location on Lake Erie. In lieu of flowers, send a donation to a
charity/church of your choice, or your local hospice organization in
Lou’s memory.
