Born in Spokane, Washington on Jan. 8, 1911.
Departed on May 29, 2002 and resided in Rimrock, Arizona.

Raymond E. Cummins, 91, a resident of Rimrock, Arizona passed away May 24, 2002, at the Veterans Medical Center in Prescott.

Ray was born January 8, 1911 in Spokane, Washington. His last remaining parent, mother, Maggie Cummins died in 1917, and Ray was placed in an orphanage where he lived for two years. His mother's sister, Minnie Frank Wingfield, of Camp Verde sent for him in 1919, and Ray was raised with the Wingfield family in Camp Verde and has spent most of his life in the Verde Valley. Some of Ray's occupations and experiences included: farming, mining, cowboying, three years of overseas military service during World War II in the Pacific and European Theater, a mill operator, service station owner and operator, a dairyman and seventeen years as a caretaker at the Army Mountain Depot at Belmont, near Flagstaff.

Ray is survivied by his wife, Bettie, Rimrock, Ariz.; his son, Jon and wife, Mary, Juneau, Alaska; step-sons, Mark Gant, Flagstaff and Jack Gant, Wickenburg.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 31 in the Montezuma Chapel, 3450 E. Rusty Spurs Rd, Lake Montezuma, Ariz.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northern Arizona Hospice, 269 N. Candy Lane, Cottonwood or to Veterans Hospice Program c/o VAMC, 400 N. Hwy 89A Prescott, Ariz., 86313.
