The Prescott Weekly Courier, Prescott, Arizona Territory Friday, July 15, 1902, page 6, column 2 On the 15th of this month, the dead body of Thomas Clark was found on the roadside eight miles northeast of Wagoner. Sheriff Jack Nelson who investigated the matter ascertained that Clark had been dragged to death by the mule in which he was riding. He was riding the mule and leading a horse when the mix-up occurred which ended in his death. The rope probably got caught under the mule's tail and caused him to buck and run. Transcriber's note: Mr. Clark's place of burial is not known. |
