| Ronald Clarence Smith Born in Jerome, Arizona on Nov. 15, 1943. Departed on March 19, 2005 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona. Ronald Clarence Smith, 61, of Cottonwood, died March 19 after a lengthy illness. Ron was born in Jerome, Arizona Nov. 15, 1943. He attended grade school in Cottonwood and high school in Jerome. Ron served in the US Army in Germany from 1965 to 1967. Upon returning home, he joined the local gas company, UniSource Energies; retiring in 2002. Ron is survived by his wife Diane of Cottonwood; son, Warren Smith, wife Olivia of Phoenix; daughter, Karen Melton, husband Travis of Cottonwood; three grandchildren and a sister, Norma Jo Algabright of Oceanside, Calif. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, April 2 at 2:00 pm at the Westcott Funeral Home. Westcott Funeral Home, Cottonwood and Camp Verde, Arizona. |
