| Wickenburg Sun (Wickenburg, Arizona) Wednesday, December 6, 2017, p. A-5 Walter "Sonny" Lawyer, 78, passed away on Nov. 28, 2017 at Hospice of the Valley in Surprise. He was born Oct. 28, 1939, in Washington, Ind., to the late Lee Fredrick and Agnes (Cornilius) Lawyer. Sonny retired in 1995 after 30 years as a pipe fitter with the Local 18. He was a member of the Idlewold Country Club. Sonny enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, wood working, and driving. He is survived by his wife, Janie Lawyer of Markleville, Ind.; daughter, Kathy McKee of Indianapolis, Ind.; son, Travis Lawyer of Markleville; stepdaughter, Lynnette Craig of Anderson, Ind.; siblings, Dwayne (Peggy) Lawyer, Donald (Ruth Ann) Lawyer, Barbara Schaller; six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Sonny was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Wisner, stepson, Bradley Craig, and ten siblings. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday at Wilson St. Pierre, Lahm Chapel 211 E. State St., Pendleton, IN 46064 with Joey Shannon and Keith Wooden officiating. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project and/or Man4Man Ministries. See Also: Find A Grave |
