The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, March 13, 2016, page 5a Thomas Walter Menser, 76, born April 16, 1941, in Long Beach, California, died March 8, 2018, in Prescott, Arizona. Affordable Burial & Cremation, LLC of Prescott Valley, Arizona, handled all arrangements. --------------------------------- The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday March 18, 2018, page 8a Thomas Walter Menser, at the age of 76 died on March 8, 2018, at the VA hospice in Prescott, Arizona. Tom is survived by Monika, his wife of 34 years; daughter, Michelle; son, Jason; brothers, Larry and James; and sister, Cathy. He will also be missed by daughter-in-law, Crystal; sister-in-law, Patricia; and brother-in-law, Scott; five grandchildren, Max, Cassidy, Savannah, Tyler and Travis; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Tom was born on April 16, 1941, in Long Beach, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hans and Katherine Menser and sister-in-law Chantal Menser. He graduated from the University of Southern California School of Architecture. After graduating from USC, Tom heard his country call and volunteered to attend the U.S. Army Engineer Officer Candidate School (OCS) at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Graduating top of his class, 2 LT Menser soon found himself in Vietnam during one of the most turbulent years of that conflict 1967-68, and was awarded the Bronze Star medal for his service. After a very successful practice in Long Beach, Downey and Huntington Beach, California, Tom moved to Prescott, Arizona, in 1993 and worked as an architect and general contractor. He served on the Planning & Zoning Commission in Prescott for 19 years and also served on various other boards for the City. Tom was a loving husband and father. He loved the outdoors, camping, fly fishing and golf. His activities were shared by family and friends who will cherish wonderful memories of times shared. A celebration of life will be held on April 15, 2018, from 1-5 p.m., at the Holiday Courtyard, 154 S. Montezuma St. Please RSVP to: monikamenser@cableone.net. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations are requested to be made to the Yavapai Humane Society and or VA Hospice in Prescott. Affordable Burials & Cremation handled all arrangements.
