| The Camp Verde Bugle, Camp Verde, Arizona Tuesday, May 12, 2009 D. Maurine Summerlin, 91, of Cottonwood died May 8. She was born March 17, 1918, in Danforth, Ill., the daughter of Otis Sylvester Bess and Bertha Opal (Fowler) Bess. Mrs. Summerlin worked as a bookkeeper. She was a member of the Verde Baptist Church and enjoyed crafts and shells. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margie Bess. She leaves her husband of 74 years, Joseph Summerlin; daughters, Sherry Rogers (Jim) of Phoenix and Donna Momeyer (Michael) of Camp Verde; a sister Laverna Geraughty (John) of Plymouth, Ind.; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 18, in the Parkside Community Church in Camp Verde, Ariz., at 10 a.m. The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northern Arizona Hospice, 269 S.
