The Camp Verde Bugle, Camp Verde, Arizona Friday, May 08, 2009 Edwin Oscar Brown of Scottsdale died May 5, 2009. He was the second son born January 3rd 1923 to E.E. and Merle Brown. He was preceded in death by his wife June and his daughter Deby. He has one surviving sister Ann Nickel from Bend Oregon; son Edwin from Chandler, Arizona and five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. E.O. graduated from Scottsdale High in the class of 1941, played football at Arizona State then volunteered for the U.S. Navy during WWII. After the war he worked as a carpenter, building homes on Camelback Mountain and Paradise Valley in the '50s and 60s. He then moved to Las Vegas and went to work at Mercury Test Site in Nevada as a supervisor for Reynolds Electric. E.O. moved back to Cottonwood in 1975. He built and managed apartments and an Antique Shop until 2007. He moved to New River, Arizona and lived with this step-daughter and her husband until the death of his wife, then to Chandler after her death. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loving father and husband. He will be missed by his family. There will be a family service in Cottonwood where he will be buried next to his wife and daughter.
