Merle Claire Green, 92, born March 29, 1916, passed away March 28, 2009.

Survived by his daughter, Janice Curtis of Minneapolis, Minn.; granddaughters, Kimberly Sandberg of Moorhead, Minn. and Heidi Orner of Shertz, Texas; great grandchildren, Brandon, Bradley, Ashley, David and Sarah; five great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by great grandson Jameson.

Merle grew up in Detroit Lakes, Minn. and lived there with his family until he was 51 when he and wife Connie moved to Garden Grove, Calif. where he worked as a manager for Sherwin Williams Paints. At retirement he and Connie moved to Prescott, Ariz.

Merle was a devoted husband to Connie for 57 years when she passed away seven years ago. They had a son, Douglas, who was killed in a car accident when he was 18 and a daughter, Janice.

Merle worked as a pharmaceutical salesman for 30 years before moving to California. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and hunter and served his country in World War II as a technical sergeant.

He will be greatly missed.

I give thanks to all those that took care of him and also loved him dearly in the tri-city area. He was always a gentleman.
