Born in Chatanooga, Oklahoma on Nov. 7, 1923.
Departed on Oct. 24, 2005 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Alvin Eugene Beckham, 81, of Cottonwood, passed away October 24, 2005. He was born November 7, 1923 to Henry and Effie Beckham.

Alvin worked as postmaster of the US Postal Service of Cottonwood and was also a farmer. In WWII he served in the Air Corp as a Crew Chief on B17 Fighter planes. He belonged to the Mountain View United Methodist Church and he enjoyed gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, traveling, fishing, camping and was an avid domino player.

Alvin leaves his wife of 53 1/2 years, Ethel; sons Alvin Jr. (Donna) of Mesa, Ariz. and Harrison (Lisa) of Provo, Ut.; daughters, Brenda Waglag(Albert) of Mesa, Ariz. and Frances McBride (Robbin) of Gilbert, Ariz.; brother John of Roswell, N.M.; sister Mary Lou Atchison of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; 28 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Leonard and sister Velma.

Any memorial donations may be made to Northern Arizona Hospice.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 26 at Mountain View United Methodist Church at 2 p.m.
