Timothy Charles Carpenter's worn out, much-used heart gave out after a lifetime of sharing and giving to a legion of friends and family, including cousins too numerous to list and too costly for a full page ad. Tim always lived his life in service to others. He loved passionately and could always be counted on for his great smile and wonderful sense of humor. Tim was born in Buffalo, N.Y., on June 21, 1950, and died in Wickenburg, Ariz., on Jan. 16, 2018. He retired from Napa Auto parts where he couldn't fix a car to save his life but he could order you all the parts you would want. He then moved on to work for Bank of America where he was much loved by what became many of his "chosen family".
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Dorothy Carpenter, grandson Skylar Fjeld and close friend Rose Huerta. Tim is survived by his husband Dennis Hawkins, brother Rick Carpenter and sister Mary Sieg (Ed), sons Tim Carpenter II (Kim), Jon Hawkins, Zachary Hawkins, daughter Christina Fjeld, grandchildren Bailey Carpenter-Fleming, Noah Carpenter, Nate Carpenter, Aislyn Carpenter, Jacob Heintz, Mikah Johnson, Kimberly Fjeld, Brooklyn Hawkins; and close friends Charles and Elaine Brown.
A celebration of life will be held on Feb. 3, at Margaret T Hance Park, 67 W. Culver, Phoenix from 12:30-4:30 p.m. A GoFundMe account has been set up to assist his husband and youngest son at www.gofundme.com/tim-CarpenterMemorialFund.
