Leah was raised in San Diego and attended UCLA. In 1955 she married
Edward Herring, a Presbyterian minister. Together they ministered
in churches in Kansas, Texas and Tempe, AZ., where he was the campus
Pastor at Arizona State University.

After Ed’s death in 1964, Leah and her children moved to Prescott,
where she worked with the Yavapai County Assessor’s Office until her
retirement in 1995.

She was one of the original Prescott Art Docents and also
volunteered at the Chamber of Commerce and at Sharlot Hall Museum.

In 2006 she married happy fellow traveler and RVer Donald Sharpe and
together they traveled extensively in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and
Ireland. Leah loved Ireland and traveled there five times. She is
survived by her husband Donald Sharpe of Prescott and her children;
Donald Herring of Tucson, AZ., Bill Herring of Athol, ID., Ellen
Herring Buckley of Tucson, AZ., Sarah Lerner of Prescott, AZ., and
by numerous grandchildren.

Because she loved to travel, she “will see you down the road.”

A private interment will take place at the Resthave Cemetery in
Phoenix.
