Darlington, DVM Sept. 6, 1937 - March 13, 2018 Robert Darlington, DVM passed away on March 13, 2018, peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. "Dr. Bob" was born in Everett, Wash., on Sept. 6, 1937. Raised in the Cathcart and Bothell, Wash., area where he graduated high school then attended Washington State University and obtained a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Returning to Snohomish, Wash., in 1963 he bought a one-man practice that eventually grew into a large multi-animal veterinary hospital with 17 veterinarians and 50 additional personnel. Dr. Bob sold his interest in Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital in 1996 and formed Northwest Dairies both in Washington and Oregon. Dr. Bob was honored by the American Association of Bovine Practitioners of the year award for both the United States and Canada in 1987. Dr. Bob and his wife started a dairy operation in 1986 in Snohomish which grew to encompass 650 acres and a 1250 Holstein milking herd plus young stock. They sold the dairy and land between 2006 and 2007 then retired to Wickenburg. Dr. Bob was preceded in death by his mother and father; sister, Patricia Seims of Alaska; brother, Richard Darlington of Kenmore, Wash.; and one son, Mitch Darlington of Snohomish. Dr. Bob is survived by his wife, Judy Darlington; three sisters, Sharon Spencer of California, Sue (Peter) Aiau and Sandy Ormbrek of Seattle, Wash.; two brothers, Ken (Page) Ormbrek of Texas and John (Bev) Ormbrek of Ellensburg, Wash.; daughters, Chris (Siamak) Sahafi of Woodinville, Wash., Carla Darlington of Redmond, Wash., Leasa (Roy) Sandoval of Snohomish; sons, Robert M. Darlington of Bothell, Greg (Dara) Darlington of Snohomish, Kelly (Cristine) Darlington of Vashon Island, Wash., Michael (Sabra) Hinthorne of Mt. Vernon, Wash., and John Marson of Seattle; also 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers family would prefer donations to spinal cord research foundation in memory of Robert L.
