Margaret Petersen, of Wickenburg passed away in Surprise on March 25, 2018. Margaret was born and raised in Detroit, Mich., by her parents William and Sadie. She married her husband Charles in 1948 and they moved to Phoenix in 1959, raising five sons in the valley. After finishing her masters degree, Margaret taught college English and composition. They moved to Wickenburg in 1999 where she began volunteer work at St. Vincent de Paul, the Hassayampa River Preserve, Desert Caballeros Western Museum, the Del E. Webb Center for Performing Arts, the Wickenburg Library and the Wise Owl Senior Center. She had a great sense of humor, enjoyed travel, was an avid reader and loved visiting with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 2007. Margaret is survived by her five sons John, Charlie (Jeanne), William (Sharon), Chad and James (Sharon) and 14 grandchildren.

The funeral mass and committal to the columbarium will be at St. Anthony de Paul (sic: Padua) in Wickenburg, on April 7, at 10 a.m. A reception will immediately follow in the Church hall.

Memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul or Wickenburg Community Services Corporation.
