Ray James Baum
July 17, 1933 - June 14, 2018

Ray James Baum, a long time resident of Wickenburg, has passed away at the age of 84. He was born on July 17, 1933 in Cheyenne, Wyoming and was raised on a ranch near Saratoga. Ray grew up with Marian Needham, whom he would date in high school and would go on to marry her at the age of 20.

Education was always important to Ray. After spending years serving in the army, he worked his way to completing his degree in Pharmacology from the University of Wyoming while raising four kids with Marian.

Ray worked as a Pharmacist in Wyoming, Colorado, and later relocated to Wickenburg in 1966 with his family, where he remained for the duration of his career. After working for Revco for several years, he and Marian eventually opened the Medicine Chest pharmacy in town. His compassion set examples for others as he often provided those who were sick with medicine, under the guise of Dr. Jones, and would never charge those who could not afford it.

Ray served his community through his business, on the school board, and as a member of both the Wickenburg Country Club and St. Alban's Episcopal Church. He enjoyed golf, camping, a good drink and cigar, but most of all his family. He will be remembered as a gentle, kind and fun-loving man with a great sense of humor.

Ray was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-laws, Elaine (Chris) Corbet, Cindy (Bob) Faulkner, and Terry (Mike) Macias. His six grandchildren; CJ Corbet, Amanda Ibong, Shannon Eaton, Jennifer Faulkner, Reece Faulkner and Michael Macias. His four great-grandchildren; Sofie Corbet, Conley Eaton, Presley Ibong and Brock Ibong. He was preceded in death by his son Jay in 1976 and wife Marian in 2004, his brother Al Baum and sister Lois Baum.

The family asks for donations to the Wickenburg High School Alumni Scholarship fund in lieu of flowers. Memorial services were held on Tuesday, June 19th at 11:00 AM at the St. Alban's Episcopal Church.
