AGED PHYSICIAN FOUND DEAD IN BED

Sudden Demise of Dr. J. P. Welch at Humboldt - Had Been a Resident Of
This County For 12 Years

Yesterday morning at 8 o'clock, Dr. J. P. Welch, was found dead in
bed, in a room occupied by him for the past year in Humboldt. Justice
of the Peace Francis summoned a coroner's jury that rendered a verdict
that the deceased came to his death from old age and general debility.

His remains were taken in charge by the undertaking firm of Mohn &
Shannon, and brought to this city, to be prepared for burial.

Deceased was aged about 76 years and had been a resident of the Verde
Valley and Cherry Creek for twelve years, previous to removing to
Humboldt, about a year ago. He was a physician.

He leaves surviving him, a daughter, Mrs. M. E. Eubanks living in
Hastings, Okla. and a son whose name was not learned, but who is known
to be a practicing physician in New Mexico.

His remains will be held awaiting instruction from his daughter.
Funeral arrangements will be made later.
