Ward G. Motz

Ward G. Motz passed quietly after a long illness, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, in Phoenix, Jan. 7, 2009, at age 74.

Ward was born on Sept. 3, 1934, in Long View, Texas, to the late Ward and Margaret Motz.

Ward served the U.S. Army in 1962 as private 1st class. On March 7, 1982, he was united in marriage to Carmelita M. Pantanilla in Chicago, Ill.

For over 40 years, Ward owned and managed Advanced Refrigeration in Chicago and Bensenville, Ill. He and his wife, Carmelita, moved to Fountain Hills, in 1993.

Ward is survived by his wife, Carmelita; his sons, Ward, and Steve and his wife, Sandy; three grandchildren, Daniel, Amanda and Michael; and two brothers, John of California, and Don of Gilbert.

In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting that donations be made to the Fountain Hills Firefighters' Foundation, c/o Fountain Hills Fire Dept., 16426 E. Palisades Blvd., Fountain Hills, AZ 85268, and, to Church of the Ascension in Fountain Hills, 12615 Fountain Hills Blvd, Fountain Hills, AZ 85268.

Arrangements were by Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary.
