Barry Andrew Fifer, 42, of Scottsdale, passed away Nov. 17, 2007. Born Dec. 24, 1964, in Lincoln, Nebraska, Barry moved to Scottsdale with his family at the age of one.

He graduated from Chaparral High School in 1983 and was married to Deborah Madden Fifer April 14, 2001. He pursued various business interests and was recently a family business partner in Bear Mountain Mortgage in Fountain Hills.

Barry found his personal place in all aspects of nature. He had an extraordinary love of the water, from swimming in the pool as a child to snorkeling and scuba diving in the Caribbean. He was drawn to the tropics and the festive celebration of everything tropical. He was a proud “Parrothead.”

Barry lived out his passion for the Arizona mountains and deserts on horseback, motorcycle, four wheeling, fishing and hunting. As an avid hunter, he enjoyed camaraderie and friendship with his buddies in XPC and PVCI.

Barry was on his way to a club hunt in Yuma County Arizona when a one car accident claimed his life. His bright smile and generous spirit live on in the love he shared with family and friends.

Barry leaves behind his wife, Deborah Fifer; his parents, Bonnie Fifer of Fountain Hills, Duane and Catherine Fifer of Cave Creek; his brother, Kelly Fifer of Centennial, Colo.; his sister and brother in law, Julie and Roderic O’Connor of Fountain Hills; as well as nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other family and friends.

A memorial fund has been set up in Barry’s name through the Xtreme Predator Callers hunt club to help teach children about gun safety and enjoying Arizona outdoor sports. Please send memorial contributions to Xtreme Predator Callers, 3655 W. Anthem Way, Suite A-109-201, Anthem, AZ 85086.
