Published in Today's News Herald on Aug. 15, 2018 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona >> Feb. 29, 1936 to July 27, 2018 << George was born in Detroit, Mich. to Dale and Catherine (Emlich) Armstrong. He served three years in the Air Force, and, after his tour of duty, he enlisted in the Army. After his three years in the Army, he went to work with the Ford Motor Company at the Livonia Transmission Plant. When he retired from Ford, he moved to Lake Havasu City to help take care of his parents. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the men's club at Emerald Canyon Golf Course in Parker, Ariz. He also enjoyed traveling to Laughlin, Nev. and Las Vegas. He is survived by the mother of his two children, Diane Armstrong (Hoyt) Driscoll; daughter Kimberly Baynard of Dearborn Heights, Mich.; son Brian Armstrong; two grandchildren, Brian Allen Armstrong and Cody Mark Baynard; one brother, Dennis (Debra) Armstrong of McAlister, Okla.; two sisters, Kitty Ann Cordaro of Yucca Valley, Calif. and Ginger (Edmund) Gulliksen of Parker, Ariz.; and one sister-in-law, Barbara Armstrong of Coto de Caza, Calif. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Catherine Armstrong and his brother, Terry Lee Armstrong. |
