Published in Today's News-Herald on August 19, 2018 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Marion Isabell (Hicks) Heath, 90, went to heaven Aug. 13, 2018. She was born Sept. 26, 1927 in Ann Arbor, Michigan the daughter of Clarence and Lillian Hicks. After graduating high school, Marion went to work for King Seeley, which shortly thereafter was bought out by Chrysler. She would go on to work there for 33 years. Upon retirement, Marion and her husband, Joe, bought a small motel on beautiful Torch Lake in northern Michigan. She spent summers running the motel, almost singlehandedly. Most customers were repeats, as they all enjoyed Marion’s hospitality. After that, Joe and Marion bought their home in Lake Havasu City and became snowbirds, spending summers in northern Michigan. Marion became a permanent resident here once Joe passed away in 2001. She is survived by her daughters Linda (Fred), Leslie (Chuck), step- daughter Lee (Mike), grandchildren Jodi, Deanna, Chene, David, and Larry, greatgrandchildren DJ, Kerry, Mac, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husbands James Ridge (1919-1963), Joseph Heath (1926- 2001), infant son Barry, brother Arthur, sister Eleanor, and many beloved fur babies. Marion worked hard, yet also loved time spent with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, boating, gardening, and hosting parties. She also had a love for animals, and was a great pet mama! Services will be held later, in San Diego, CA. Her ashes are to be interred with those of her husband,Joseph, at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. She was loved by all who knew her, and will be deeply missed. |
