Carl J. Albers

Carl J. Albers, of Fountain Hills, and formerly of DePere, Wisconsin, a loving husband and father, died Oct. 26, 2007.

He was born Jan. 23, 1924 in West DePere, Wis. Carl was the son of the late Louis H. and Mathilda (Vanden Branden) Albers.

He graduated from West DePere High School and attended Western Maryland College. He was the chief engineer at US PaperMills Corp., DePere, Wis. for 39 years.

He served in World War II from 1941 to 1945. He married Dorothy A. Lemmen on Sept. 9, 1950 at St. Mary's Church, DePere, Wis. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 58.

Carl loved his children and grandchildren very much. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and playing cards for many years.

Survivors include his loving wife, Dottie; two children and their spouses, Robert and Barbara Albers, DePere, Wis.; Chad and Colleen Albers, DePere, Wis.; one son in-law, Donald Leslie of Urbandale, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Neil and Ryan Albers, Stroh and Dalton Leslie, Carly, Caitlin and Callie Albers; two sisters, Lorraine Smits of DePere and Lucille Tahlier of Green Bay; one sister in-law, Mae Willems of DePere; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Wendy, and two infant children, Linda and Louis, and three brothers, Lawrence, Clarence and Donald; one sister in-law, Ellen Albers; two brothers-in-law, Raymond Smits and Harold Tahlier.

He is also survived by four sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law, Mary Barth and Richard Russell, Clare and Norbert Petasek, Margaret and John Brennan, John and Donna Lemmen, Green Bay, Wis.; Linda and Edward Lemmen, Bellview, Fla., and Delores Lemmen of Green Bay, Wis.; a step sister, Margaret Mommaerts. He was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law, Albert and Peter Lemmen and Jerome Blondheim; two step brothers-in-law, Donald McCellan and Donald Mommaerts.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes, DePere, Wis. and burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery, DePere, Wis. at a later date.
