Patrick Russell Porter

Patrick Russell Porter, 45, of Fountain Hills, fought a courageous battle with lung cancer and died peacefully in his sleep on Oct. 21, 2007.

Born April 16, 1962 in Elmhurst, Ill., he was a 1980 graduate of South Beloit High School in South Beloit, Ill.

He served his country in the Air Force, first at Williams Air Force Base in Arizona, then in Alconbury, England. While living in Arizona, he met and married JoAnn, his wife of 25 years.

After leaving the military, Pat moved to Fountain Hills and was employed by America West Airlines as a jet engine mechanic. Pat then became the representative for the Teamsters Local 104.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; daughter, Jenny; grandson, Noah; father, Ross; and four siblings. He was preceded in death by his mother, Judie Porter.

Services will be held at Fountain Hills Christian Center Thursday, Oct. 25, at 4 p.m.

The family would like to thank everyone who has provided comfort and support throughout his illness. Pat was greatly loved and will be missed by many.
