Published in Today's News-Herald on Oct. 18, 2018 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - (personal article, page 5) - It is with great sadness that the family of Bonnie Lynd announce her passing on 10/11/18 at age 85. Bonnie will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to all. She is very relieved to be united with her Lord. Bonnie was born at home on January 7, 1933, in Decatur County, Iowa, to Ruby and Delbert Wilson. Bonnie grew up and attended school in Galva, Illinois. Bonnie married Orval (Gus) Lynd on September 7, 1948. They had two children, Ricky and Pamala. Bonnie worked (for many years) at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Aurora, Illinois, as a nurses’ aide and unit clerk. Bonnie also worked at Western Electric/AT&T in Montgomery, Illinois. She retired from AT&T after 23 years of service. Bonnie was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church for nearly thirty years. Mom was a volunteer for many church functions. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Survived by: Son: Ricky (Carole Davison) Lynd, Mesa, AZ, Daughter: Pamala (Robert) Braswell, LHC, AZ, Grandchildren: Joel (Lucy) Bowman, Union Grove, WI, Jennifer Beach, Marissa (Andrew) Sisneroz, Cameron Park, CA, Great Grandchildren: Jessica Foxworthy, Michaela Beach, Lillie Beach, Andrew Sisneroz III, Cameron Park, CA; Rogue, Joshua. Siblings: Helen Glasgo, Aurora, IL, George (Marilyn) Wilson, Galva, IL, Don (Evelyn) Wilson, Kewanee, IL, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: Father, Delbert Andrew Wilson in 1933, Mother, Ruby Irene Garness on 3/25/02, Step Father: Jacob Garness 3/5/75. Inlaws: Orval D. Lynd Sr. in 1967, Phoebe Lynd in 1972. Husband of 58 years, Orval Lynd on 3/5/07, Companion of 10 years, Lambert (Bert) Thieda on 7/6/17. Contributions in lieu of flowers to: Beacon of Hope Hospice, 500 N. Lake Havasu Ave. #B 106, LHC, AZ 86403 or Mt Olive Lutheran Church for Youth and Vacation Bible School located at 2170 Havasupai Blvd., LHC, AZ 86403. Visitation will be held on Friday, 10/19/18, 9:30 -10:00 am at Mt Olive Lutheran Church, 2170 Havasupai Blvd. A funeral service will begin at 10:00 am. A Luncheon will be served immediately following the service Burial at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens will take place following the luncheon. The family would like to thank the Beacon of Hope Hospice and Nurse Sara; Brenda and family at the Heritage House for taking such good care of our mother and friends and family members who’ve sent cards, flowers, and made phone calls to Mom.
