Published in Today's News Herald on Oct. 21, 2018 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Eleanor Adella Rowland, 96, passed away on September 28, 2018 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. She was born on September 12, 1922 in Twin Butte, North Dakota to Amandus and Alvina Andreason. Eleanor married the love of her life, Ralph L. Rowland, on June 8, 1940. Later, they moved to Tacoma, Washington. The couple had four children and spent a wonderful 64 years together until Ralph's passing in 2004. Eleanor's passion was square dancing. She would teach round and square dances. Ralph and Eleanor even built their own square dance hall in Tacoma. Eleanor danced for over 60 years. In 1988 the Rowland's sold their dance hall to retire and travelled full time for 3 years. They finally settled in Lake Havasu City in 1991. Eleanor is survived by her three daughters, Patricia (Duane) O'Ravez, Marilyn (Stanley) Koren, and Pam (Berry) Ayle. She is preceded in death by her husband Ralph; son, Jeff Rowland; her parents; three brothers; three sisters; and one great-grandson. A memorial service will be held at Mohave Memorial Lake Havasu Mortuary on Wednesday October 24, 2018 at 3:00pm.
