Published in Today's News Herald on Oct. 21, 2018 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Dennis Nolan Grissom, 77, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on September 28, 2018 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was born on February 12, 1941 in Upland, California to the late Nolan and Elizabeth (Williams) Grissom. Dennis often said he had earned a PhD from the "School of Hard Knocks." He worked mostly in construction, holding contractor's licenses in multiple states. While Dennis had a zest for everything he did in life, he enjoyed his position as a Forensic Construction Expert the most. During construction downturns, Dennis turned to driving a big rig, racking up over 2 million recorded miles behind the wheel. Oh the "stories" this wonderful man would tell. Dennis' big love of life was his family, friends and people in general. He truly never met a stranger. These past few years, although racked with the pain of cancer, were brightened by the deepening love he had in the Lord Jesus Christ. Family and friends are comforted knowing Dennis is now in the presence of Jesus, with no more pain, sorrow or suffering, just pure love and joy and everlasting life. Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn; son, Dennis Jr.; daughter, Sally Hammond; step-son, Matthew Wrysinski; and grand- children, Tommy, Andy, Riley, Madelyn, Evelyn, and Charlotte. Thoughts and condolences can be sent to Dennis' family at www.mohavememorial.com. Donations (in lieu of flowers) can be made in Dennis' name to: Stonebridge Christian Fellowship, Hospice of Havasu, or the Cancer Association of Havasu. Services will be held on October 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Stonebridge Christian Fellowship (the "Domes"), 2700 Jamaica Boulevard, Lake Havasu City, AZ. Services were placed in the care of Mohave Memorial Lake Havasu Mortuary and crematory. |
