A longtime member of the Lake Havasu City community, passed away
peacefully on the morning of October 1st after a valiant, three-year
battle with cancer. Jennifer was 57 years old.

Born on March 23rd 1961 in the hardscrabble mining town of Butte,
Mont., Jennifer grew up in Arizona and California before eventually
settling in Lake Havasu City with her husband, John Ryan and daughter
Kristina Ryan in 1988. She had attended Irvine High School in Irvine,
Calif. and Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, Calif.

A fixture of the local community for over 20 years, Jennifer was owner
of Ryan's Bead Gallery, which specialized in beaded jewelry and was a
popular destination for local hobbyists and seasonal visitors.
Jennifer, who had a devoted following, not only produced one-of-a-kind
beaded bracelets and other jewelry, but taught beading classes for her
customers. Her husband, John, is founder of Ryan's Gunsmithing.
With a fondness for cowboy hats, boots and the outdoors, Jennifer was
a crack shot whose taste in art inclined toward western and Native
American themes. Despite a tough, fearless demeanor and independent
streak that suited her well for life in the Arizona desert, Jennifer
was a sensitive woman of deep passions who was devoted to her husband,
her family and her many beloved pets.

Jennifer had temporarily relocated to the Central Virginia community
of Ruther Glen, about 40 miles north of Richmond, to care for her
elderly mother and her daughter. Diagnosed with breast cancer in mid-
2015, she underwent surgeries, radiation treatment and chemotherapy in
a bid to defeat her cancer.

She earned the respect and admiration of her doctors and other health
care providers, as well as friends and neighbors for the strength and
incredible determination she displayed over the course of her illness.
Pugnacious by nature, she remained confident to the end that she would
beat her illness and had recently begun a third round of chemotherapy.
Despite her illness, Jennifer remained a devoted caregiver for her
mother and daughter. A passionate animal lover, she also earned
acclaim in her Virginia community for her efforts to rescue and find
homes for the numerous stay cats roaming her neighborhood. Dozens of
felines who otherwise would have been euthanized were adopted by
loving owners due to her work.

Upon her arrival in Heaven, Jennifer was greeted by her father,
Richard Hanley, who passed away in 1985, and an older brother, Barry,
who passed away in May. Jennifer is survived by John and Kristina, and
step-daughter Kimberly Ryan and grand-daughter's Hala and Kaia. She is
also survived by her mother, Rosalie Hanley. The baby of the family,
Jennifer is also survived by her sister, Darlene Lewis, and older
brothers Richard Hanley and Robert Hanley, as well as by numerous
nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held in Lake Havasu City @ Calvary Chapel,
1881 West Acoma Blvd., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403 on Saturday 27th,
2018 @ 6:30pm.
