Dale A. Fallang

Dale Fallang died May 25, 2009, in Show Low surrounded by family and friends. He was born May 19, 1939, in Townsend, Montana, to K. O. Fallang and Alice Mueller Fallang.

He graduated from White Sulfur Springs in 1957. He married Lavada Phillips, and from this marriage five children were born. They divorced in 1971 and he married Irene Selfors in 1973. She had four children from a previous marriage. He took them as his own.

He worked in construction for many years and was a member of the Operator Union for 40 years. He built roads from Montana to Arizona and all over the western states.

He settled in Show Low where he and Irene lived for 35 years. They shared a wonderful life until her passing July 31, 2002.

He is survived by his brothers, Don (Maggie) Fallang and Bob (Shelly) Fallang; children Vickie (Joe) Martinez of Albuquerque, N.M., Tammy, Kristi and Mitch Fallang of Billings, Mont., Todd (Kelly) Fallang of Huntley, Mont., Larry Hill of Butte, Mont., Tammy (Ken) Kassito of Show Low, Christine (Shawn) Jones of Washington and Misty Fregien of Bozeman, Mont.; and 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

"Dad had the best of friends a man could ever ask for including Larry, Dave, Ken and Victor. We as a family thank you all. Dad loved riding his four wheeler with these buddies, and he loved going to auctions. Barb Kussito, you are an angel."

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, K.O. and Alice Fallang, and wife Irene Fallang.

A memorial service for Dale was held Saturday, May 30, at the Chuck Wagon Steak House on Porter Mountain Road.

Arrangements were handled by Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor.
