Karen Marie Aronson, 74, after a long & courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease, our Karen passed away at home with her family by her side in Tolleson on December 22, 2014. She was born September 4, 1940 to Clifford John & Elsie Sophia (Kiep) Aronson in her maternal grandparents home in Ute, Iowa. The family resided in IA until 1947 when they moved to Colorado, living in the towns of La Porte, Livermore, Bellvue & Orchard, where Karen graduated from Weldona High School where she was a cheerleader. The family then moved to Greeley when Karen started working in the medical field at various doctor's offices. She moved to Fort Collins & in 1997 started her career with Eastman Kodak Colorado Div., in Windsor as a Human Resources Assistant. After 21 years with Kodak & retiring in 1994 (sic), she decided to move to Tolleson in 1997 (sic), so she could be close to family that is now in Payson & Tolleson.
Karen was very bright, enthusiastic, energetic, loving & could light up a room with her bright blue eyes & infectious warm smile. She was very passionate about her family, loved meeting new people & greatly enjoyed a wide circle of friends from all walks of life. Her hobbies were golfing, fishing, snow skiing, horseback riding, adventure, travel & being outside enjoying the great outdoors. She had the opportunity to travel to France, Sweden, England, Mexico & Alaska.
Karen is predeceased by her parents, younger sister Colleen Staudinger, Uncle & Aunt Bob & Shirley Aronson & cousins, Trudy Aronson & Cindy Adams. She is survived by her compassionate companion Art Valenzuela, brother Dick (Lois), sister Marcia, nephews Trevor & Devon (Darci) Aronson, brother-in-law Jim & nephews Troy (Natasha) & Ty (Nicole) Staudinger, 91 year old great aunt Dorothy Olson, Uncle & Aunt Lloyd & Carol Aronson, three great nephews & two great nieces & seven cousins.
Services are Friday, January 9, 2015 at Advantage Crystal Rose Funeral Home, 9155 W. Van Buren St., Tolleson, with visitation noon-1pm & services immediately following.
