Irene Anna (Gerback) Weiss

Irene Anna Gerback Weiss, 81, died Thursday, May 21, 2009, at the Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low.

Irene was born April 18, 1928. She married Donald Arthur Weiss Jan. 7, 1955, just before moving to Arizona. They lived 20 years in Tucson and moved to Lakeside in 1975, where she had since resided.

Mr. Weiss preceded her in death in 2001. Her passions included yard selling, reading, crafts and talking. She also enjoyed receiving frogs from her friends and family.

Irene is survived by two sons, Alan (Debbie) Weiss and Rusty Weiss; two daughters, Dorene (Mike) Jennings and Cindy (Calvin) Pulda; nine grandchildren, Christa (Billy) Vine, Jason Weiss, Brandon Weiss, Sara Weiss, Mitchell Jennings, Heather (Moe) Jennings, Robert (Sara) Rice, Calvin (Jennifer) Pulda, Jr. and Christopher Breu; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sharon (Dave) Arenz and Joan Marasco; brother Johnny (Gloria) Gerback; and many nieces and nephews as well as her Wal-Mart family and numerous friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Weiss, parents Wesley and Elizabeth (Wilkins) Gerback, as well as her brother, Lenny Gerback.

A visitation will be held Friday, May 29, at Owens Livingston Mortuary-White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th St. in Show Low.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pet Allies, P.O. Box 415, Show Low, AZ 85902.
