William Hays Dead; Will Be Buried Here

William B. Hayes (Hays), 78, a cowman, who had lived in Yavapai county 58 years, died in the county hospital in Miller Valley Christmas eve.

He had entered the hospital last September 25 from Ash Fork, where he had lived for many years. California was his birthplace on January 14, 1856, and he was the son of S. W. Hays, native of Illinois, and Mrs. Catherine Lewis Hays, born in Arkansas.

Mrs. R. A. Kaufman of Los Angeles, for whose family Mr. Hayes worked for many years, was in Prescott over Christmas to make arrangement for the burial locally, though all details have not been completed, it was learned today from the Lester Ruffner Funeral Home. W. D. Washington, Ash Fork merchant, was a friend of long standing of the deceased.

Note: burial was made in the Rolling Hills Cemetery, Prescott, Arizona
