Elinor "Elly" Ruth McIntosh, 88 years old, died peacefully due to
complications with dementia in Lake Havasu City, AZ, under the loving
care of Prestige Assisted Living and Beacon of Hope Hospice.

She has now joined her dear friends and beloved family in God's
Eternal Universe.

She was born to Clarence Rudolph and Ruth Olivia (Seppala) Spaeth in
Detroit, Michigan in February of 1930.

She is survived by her son Gary and his wife Cathy McIntosh of Lake
Havasu City, AZ; her son Travis and his wife Mindy McIntosh of
Westchester, CA; and her 3 grandchildren Alex, Hayley and Scott.

She was preceded in death by her son Scott (12 years old), her parents
Clarence and Ruth Spaeth, husband Bradley, her brother Stanley, nephew
Larry, and loving companion Del Bailey.

Growing up in Detroit Michigan she enjoyed taking piano lessons,
playing classical bass in the high school orchestra, and singing in
choir. She was proud to have won 1st place in her high school spelling
bee.

She was an Honor Society member, a Campfire Girl troop leader, Parade
Queen of the City of Monrovia, CA, and loved working as Booster Club
President of Westchester High School.

She first worked as a secretary at a Ford dealership in Los Angeles,
CA. Then in 1951, became an early flight attendant with Western
Airlines, traveling the world by air with them for 11 years. She was
often chosen to host the inaugural flights for the airline, and
flights with celebrities of the day.

She also worked as a tour bus guide at Los Angeles International
Airport, earned a school bus drivers license, and worked as a
personnel manager and bookkeeper.

After raising her family in Westchester CA, she moved to her new home
in Lake Havasu City in 1995, where she was better able to enjoy RV
traveling.

She was always very supportive of her children's and grand-children's
interests, and their accomplishments in music, music lessons,
academics, sports, and especially stage performances.

She loved animals, volunteering for events, organizing family reunions
and parties with her friends, and once swam to Catalina Island from
California – in her swimming pool.

Her favorite goodnight saying was "If I fall through the mattress,
I'll see you in the Spring".

Elly always brought a smile to everyone she met.

Her wish was for you to remember her as she was. There will be no
formal services.
