Pifer, Clifford Earl Oct. 2, 1940 - May 26, 2009 Clifford Earl Pifer, 68, died Tuesday, May 26, 2009, in Battle Ground, Washington. He was born Oct. 2, 1940, in Miami and went to Meadow Glade Elementary School and Columbia Academy. He worked as a general contractor and lived in Clark County, Wash., since February 1946. He was a member of Meadow Glade SDA Church. Cliff enjoyed his family, hunting, riding his motorcycle and his beloved 1946 orange Ford pickup. He and his wife of 40 years, Mary, wintered in Kingman where they traveled with the Route 66 Motorcycle Club. Cliff is survived by his father, Harvey Pifer; children, Sandra Knapp of Woodland, Wash., Tina Pifer of Battle Ground; son, Terry Pifer of Battle Ground; sisters, Ina Tichenor, Eleanor Pallay, Caroline Hansen of Battle Ground and Suzanne Myer of Silver Lake, Wash.; his six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who love him very much. He also had a special life-time friend, Fred Wood of Kingman. "Cliffie" was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Pifer. Memorial services were held on Sunday, May 31, 2009, at Orchards Seventh Day Adventist Church, 6415 N.E. 102nd Ave., Vancouver, WA 98682. Arrangements made by Laynes Funeral Home, Battle Ground.
