Jerre Grace (Jordan) Cavalliere

Posted 2009-06-07 by Kingman Daily Miner
Jerre Grace Jordan Cavalliere passed peacefully in her home on Thursday, May 28, 2009. She was born March 22, 1917, in Phoenix to S.E. and Texas Oakley Jordan. Jerre was premature at birth and kept in a shoebox in the bread warmer. Little did we know at that time how strong she was and how many lives she would touch.

Jerre was raised in Phoenix/Scottsdale. Jerre helped her mother plant some of the first citrus groves at the base of Camelback Mountain. She worked hard in the citrus groves picking and shipping citrus. They also grew beautiful exotic flowers, supplying the local florist.

Jerre learned to drive at an early age. She drove with her father covering Arizona, mapping out real estate. She drove the citrus trucks and tractors on the farm. She was never thought of as a" typical" woman. She grew to develop with extraordinary experiences and a lot of hard work.

Jerre purchased several ranches in her life, including The Casa Rosa at Castle Hot Springs, and she lived out her life since 1961 at The Cavalliere Ranch in Yucca.

Jerre continued helping kids and lost souls in trouble needing a place to learn about life. With hard work mixed with ranch life fun, it was a great atmosphere. Jerre had a huge heart and was the first to arrive if help was needed and the last to leave unless you crossed her and then it was a totally different story.

Jerre was preceded in death by her parents, S.E. Jordan and Texas Oakley Jordan; her husband of 24 years, William A. Cavalliere; sons, Spence O. Cavalliere and Vence A. Cavalliere; and brothers, Jim Jordan and Oakley Jordan. Jerre is survived by her grandchildren, Lawton Cavalliere, Bryan Cavalliere and Connie Cavalliere Jenson; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial barbecue was held on Saturday, June 6, at the Cavalliere Ranch, 3625 E. Boriana Mine Road, Yucca.
