| The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona December 24, 2000. Carmen Lopez Escalante, 83 years of age, native of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on December 20, 2000. Professional work included positions with the Phoenix Unified High School System, St. Joseph's Hospital and the City of Phoenix. Survivors include her daughter: Marjorie L. Escalante; son: Manuel L. Escalante Jr.; grandchildren Annamarie and Joseph; great grandchildren: Joseph Anthony, Cecelia, Christina, Raymond Jr., and Alexander. Sisters: Alice Beale, Annie Torres (San Diego, CA.) and Violet Cruz, and many nieces, nephews and cousins in Arizona and from out of state. Visitation was Tuesday, December 26, 2000, with a Rosary at Whitney and Murphy Arcadia Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School RD., Phoenix, AZ. A funeral Mass was held at St. Matthew Church, 2038 W. Van Buren, Phoenix, AZ., on Wednesday, December 27, 2000. |
