Wilbur E. Phillips, 96, of Sun City, AZ, passed away on March 19, 2003. He was born near Canton, Ohio on May 9, 1906 and with his wife, Jean, lived there until moving to Roseville, MN in 1955. They retired to Sun City in 1977.

"Bill" was the founder of the Sun Health Laryngectomy Support Group and he was dedicated to helping new laryngectomies learn to speak again. In 1999, he was the recipient of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Ageless Hero award. He was an accomplished painter and loved photography and music.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Jean, on December 30, 2002. He leaves behind his sons, Jim (Kathy) of Scottsdale, AZ, Randy of Coon Rapids, MN; a niece, Diane McNalley and her son Dale from Bethoud, CO; 3 Grandchildren, Erin and Elizabeth of MN and Kristen of Scottsdale.

Funeral services were Monday, March 24, 2003 at Sunland Lakeside Chapel, 15826 Del Webb Blvd. Entombment to follow in Sunland Memorial Park.
