Mrs. Carmen Lydia Daspit Ortiz, 62, of Kingman, passed away Feb. 11,
2019 with her family by her side.

She was born April 23, 1956 in Atlantic City, New Jersey to the late
Louis and Jesusa Ortiz of Yabucoa, Puerto Rico.

She is survived by her husband; Joseph Daspit of Kingman, Arizona.
They lived together in Venice, California for 16 years before
relocating to Kingman. Carmen is also survived by her daughter;
Theresa Daspit of Las Vegas, her brother; Louis Ortiz Jr. of Buffalo,
her niece; Natasha Ortiz of Las Vegas, and her two grandchildren;
Salvador and Dorian Monda-Daspit.

Carmen completed numerous courses in art, graphic design, and mixed-
media. Her favorite subject was fantasy and sci-fi art. Her last place
of work was for Hastings Entertainment and had just opened an Etsy
shop to sell her creations. Carmen could always be found creating,
dreaming, fixing things, gardening, and loving her family and pets.
She always had her special unique touches for everything she did for
others. Always a truth seeker, Carmen also said she wasn’t afraid to
die, but wanted to stay for the things she desired to accomplish and
to be here for her family. She always said that if it can be imagined
it exists somewhere.

Memorial will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers,
donations can be sent to Joseph Daspit: 3850 Lum Ave., Kingman AZ,
86409.
