Born in Bridgeport, Texas on Feb. 8, 1928.
Departed on Aug. 20, 2006 and resided in Cornville, Arizona.

Eldred H. (Jack) Bird, 78, resident of Cornville, Arizona, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2006 in Flagstaff, Arizona. He was born on February 8, 1928 in Bridgeport, Texas to Eldred H. and Edith Marie (Laidlaw) Bird.

Jack was indeed, a “Jack of all trades”. He was a retired millwright, welder and mechanic. Jack loved his work, as it was also his hobby. He was a skilled crafter of wood, metal and rock art.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eldred and Edith Bird; and his sister, Marie Pierson.

Jack leaves behind his loving wife of 54 years, Ellen Bird of Cornville, Ariz.; sons, Bob Bird, wife Debi, Peoria, Ariz., and Jim Bird, wife Susan, Mesa, Ariz.; daughters, Edie Faust with Paul Glazer of Cottonwood, Ariz., Rindy Bird, Cornville, Ariz., and Bonnie Chandler, husband Allen, Sapphire, N.C.; brothers: Bill Bird, wife Jan, Pocatello, Id., Dick Bird, wife Beth, Rexburg, Id., and Don Bird, wife Bonnie, Sugar City, Id.; sisters, Jane Hunter, St. Anthony, Id., and Bobbi Rammell, Rexburg, Id.; grandchildren, John and Tanya Faust, Karyn and Josh Cushman, Ruth Lewis, Jack and Heather Lewis, Amy and Shane Sneathem, Mike and Sara Hunt, Luke and Crystal Hunt, Annie Hunt and Jake Sipes, Bekah Hunt, Jacob Chandler, Adam Chandler, Katie Chandler, Tyler Bird, Justin Bird, and Jenna Bird; great-grandchildren, Anne Marie, Aaron, Lauryn, Kaitlyn, Eli, Daelan, Alexa, Rein, Macy, Gracie, Faith, Willie, and Steven; numerous nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.

The life of Jack Bird will be celebrated at a later date with the gathering of his family and friends.
