William James "Mac" McMorrow, 62, of Flagstaff, died Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at home.

Mr. McMorrow was born June 3, 1946, in San Diego, where he grew up and lived for 40 years. He later moved to Flagstaff, where he worked as a general contractor until his retirement a few years ago. For those who truly knew him, he was a unique and fun-loving man with a sincere love for his profession, family and friends. He was an accomplished musician who had an innate talent and passion for the arts. As a youth, he proudly played the violin in different orchestras and later, the saxophone for several professional and amateur bands. He also was a decorated Eagle Scout. He enjoyed throwing pottery, riding motorcycles, watching movies, trout fishing, building adobe homes and refurbishing old cars. His spirited enthusiasm and good humor will be missed immensely.

Mr. McMorrow is survived by his ex-wife and best friend Cherry McMorrow of Flagstaff; mother Margaret McMorrow; sister Susan Roettger of West Orange, N.J.; brothers Clyde McMorrow of San Jose, Calif. and John McMorrow of Quincy, Calif.; son Erik McMorrow of Peoria; daughter Anita Brogan of Del Mar, Calif.; stepdaughters Shawncee Hayes of Ramona, Calif., Mila Fox of Flagstaff, and Nikki Kiracofe-Ruiz of Flagstaff; stepson Scott Martin of Flagstaff; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by father Clyde McMorrow and sister Annie Evans.

In celebration of his life, family and friends are invited to the Weatherford Hotel, Friday, March 20, from 5 to 8 p.m.
