Frances (Betty) George, born on June 26, 1920 in Fort Barry, California returned to the loving arms of her Lord on April 2, 2014. Hailing from Salinas, California, Betty and her family moved to Scottsdale in 1960 where they were active members of Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish for over 40 years. Throughout her life she was an accomplished secretary, avid reader, gifted knitter, bridge player and crossword puzzle enthusiast. Her two big passions were family and golf. Betty and her husband were members of both Valley and Scottsdale Country Clubs. Her family feels blessed to have had her as their matriarch and role model for all these years and will miss her greatly.

Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tommy George, of fifty seven years. We are confident that the two of them are once again making shots on the fairways of Heaven. She is survived by daughters Diane (Bill) Raleigh and Lynn smith both of Scottsdale; her grandchildren James (Carissa) Raleigh, Jamie (Gregg) Davis, Matthew (Erin) Raleigh, and Suzanne (Mario) Roberti; and eleven great grandchildren.

Her family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers at The Retreat at Desert Cove and Pueblo Norte for tending to her needs over the past four years. Donations may be made in her name to Hospice of the Valley who so lovingly cared for her in her final months.

A Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 7th at the Community of the Blessed Sacrament, 1130 N. 64th Street in Scottsdale, with burial to follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Phoenix. Messinger Mortuary.
