Born July 15, 1952 in Chelsea, Mass., he was the son of Robert and Isabelle (Nowak) Claypool. He lived in the T.C. area and while living there he owned and operated Rich’s Lunch Wagon serving lunches and snacks to factories, offices and construction sites.

His interest was riding his trike and his membership with “The Brothers of the Third Wheel.” He was also very fond of his albino German shepherd dogs, Lady and Tramp, and his two cockatiels, Sylvester and Tweety.

But his greatest joy was his family. He was always willing to help them in any way, his love was unconditional. Claypool and Michael (Betty) Claypool; and also many nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, and his wife of six years, Margaret.

Memorial services were held Wednesday, May 13, at the Reynolds-Jonkoff Funeral Home in Traverse City, Mich.

In remembrance of Rich, memorials may be directed to “Brothers of the Third Wheel,” c/o Alex Ross, BTW Region #9, 5660 N. Abington Road, Tucson, AZ 85743, or to the American Cancer Society.
