Shirley A. Smith

Shirley A. Smith of Fountain Hills passed away suddenly May 30, 2009, while on vacation in Wisconsin with her family, and all were at her side when she was called to Heaven.

She was born on Aug. 2, 1946 in Milwaukee Wis. She lived in Fountain Hills with her husband, Jim Smith, for 16 years, and they were happily married for 44 years.

Shirley was a long-time employee at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Jim; son, Kelly Smith of Fountain Hills; and daughter, Kimberly Klamerus of Chicago, Ill.; grandchildren Patrick and Amanda Smith; sisters, Doris Sprague of East Troy, Wis. and Diane Slattery of Denver, Colo. and other family and friends.

A funeral for Shirley was held in Wisconsin on June 5 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and burial later at St. Mary’s cemetery in Palmyra, Wis.

A memorial service was held at Ascension Catholic Church in Fountain Hills on Saturday, June 13.
