Ruth Anastatia (O'Neil) Brownell

Ruth Anastatia O'Neil Brownell, 58, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away on May 7, 2007. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, great aunt and friend. She was born May 1, 1949 in Phoenix, AZ to Ruth and James O'Neil. Ruthi was a member of Tri Delta sorority at the U of A, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She pursued a profession in law as a paralegal for 25+ years. She volunteered her time as a member with the Junior League and Golden Gate. She also was actively involved at the Ronald McDonald House and The Boys and Girls Club of Metro Phoenix.

She is survived by her husband Burton James Brownell, and their three beautiful daughters Courtney, Katherine and Carolyn. She is also survived by her sisters, Jane and Mary, and brothers, David, Jim and Tom (her beloved twin); nephews, nieces and cousins. She is preceded in death by twin sons Jim and John Brownell, sister Carolyn Corbet, and her parents.

Ruthi was a vibrant, humorous, fun-loving, compassionate person. A mother who devoted her time to family and friends. Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of so many others. Her giving spirit will always be close to our hearts. We all feel blessed to have had her in our lives. She will be forever missed.

The services will be held at St. Joseph's Church, Friday, May 11th at 2PM. (40th St. and Shea Blvd.) In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charity in Ruth's name. Post script by Posey.
