| Elizabeth “Beth” Low Stauffer, 94, entered into eternal rest at her home in Safford on May 31, 2009. She was born March 23, 1915, in Beaver, Utah, the second daughter of Arnold James Low and Althea Tolton Low. As a young child, Beth moved with her family to Sea Cliff, Calif., then to Long Beach, Calif., before returning to Beaver, where she graduated from Beaver High School in 1931. She attended Branch Agriculture College (Southern Utah University) in Cedar City, Utah, for three years, then transferred to Utah State Agriculture College (Utah State University) in Logan, Utah, where she worked in the library and met her future husband, Delmar Bailey Stauffer. In 1937, she graduated from USAC with her Bachelor of Science degree in library science. She was married June 7, 1940, in Salt Lake City Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. On July 1, 1940, Beth and DB moved to Willcox, where DB taught school. While in Willcox their only daughter, Delsa Beth, was born. In January 1944, her husband joined the Army, and Beth and her daughter moved to Beaver, Utah, to live with her parents. Beth worked in the bank until her husband returned. The family moved to Safford for a year and then moved to Milford, Utah, where their son, Bailey Low, was born. The family returned to Safford, where her two sons, James Christian and Miles Ivery, were born. She began employment at Doyle Cluff Motors, where she was the office manager. During this time, she continued her education by attending classes at Arizona universities. The library was her love, and she was able to go to work for the Safford School District in 1967 as the Junior High librarian until she retired. She continued to live in Safford with her husband, where they raised sheep. Beth served in many callings for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, her brother and a grandson, Shayne Delmar Bland. She is survived by her children, Delsa (Jim) Demlow, Bailey (Eil-een), Chris (Monica), Miles (Denise); 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Many thanks to her caregivers, who made her life comfortable in her last years. Funeral services Monday, June 8, at the 20th Street LDS Chapel. Friends may call at the Caldwell Funeral Home Chapel.
