Edith P. Burns, 93, of South Greensburg, died Wednesday, March 14,
2018, in her home. She was born July 29, 1924, in Elmira, a daughter
of the late Charles W. and Gertrude (Truxel) Penrod.
Prior to retirement, she had been a fashion illustrator and artist for
G.C. Murphy Co., Pittsburgh. She was Protestant by faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
Robert C. Burns, in 1997; and her brother, William G. Penrod. She is
survived by two sons, John R. Burns and wife, Tina, of Greensburg, and
William R. Burns and wife, Paula, of Canton, Ohio; two daughters,
Margurete "Penny" Kistner and husband, Anthony, of South Greensburg,
and Victoria Haney and husband, Dan, of Pensacola, Fla.; nine
grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the LEO M. BACHA
FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton St., Greensburg. A funeral service will
begin at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Robert A.
