Services Tomorrow For Wayne Kirkland
Funeral rites for Wayne Allan Kirkland, 31, a mortician, will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow in Arizona Funeral Home, 376 N. Third Ave.
The Rev. Paul Strickland will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Kirkland, 3025 E. Moreland, a grandson of one of Arizona's earliest settlers, was fatally injured Sunday in an auto crash on the Black Canyon Highway at Peoria Avenue.
The town of Kirkland and Kirkland Junction in Yavapai County was named for his grandfather, William H. Kirkland, who owned a dairy there.
Mr. Kirkland, a mortician for Mortensen-Kings Funeral Center, was graduated from the Dallas School of Mortuary Science. He served in the Navy in 1951.
Mr. Kirkland, a native of Phoenix, is survived by his mother, Mrs. Ruth Kirkland of Phoenix; a brother, William H. of Mesa; five sisters, Mrs. Carl T. Murphy and Mrs. David Owen both of Phoenix, Mrs. Paul Coscarart of Gilbert, Mrs. Henry A. Brown of Surprise and Mrs. Milton Pennington of Los Angeles.
