| Arizona Republic (Phoenix, Arizona) Sunday, August 26, 2012, p. B8 Robert Russell Ricks passed away August 23, 2012 in Tempe, AZ. Born near Renssalear, IN, Mr. Ricks moved to Arizona in 1927 where he owned and operated a trailer hitch manufacturing company. In 1932 he joined the National Guard at the young age of 16. He continued his service and is a veteran of WWII. In 1937 he married his school sweetheart "Vernie." They shared 56 happy beautiful years before her passing in 1992. He met Barbara in late 1993, married in February 1995 and she passed away in 2007. Preceded in death by his daughter Carolyn Jo, he is survived by 4 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Services will be Friday August 31, 2012 at 10:00 am at Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel, 7900 E. Main St., Mesa, AZ. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home (480-832-2850).
