Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Randy L. Nygren, age 51, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away in Traverse City, Michigan, on April 26, 2005 after a long illness. He was born on March 24, 1954 in Lansing, Michigan to Robert C. and Mary M. (Smyth) Nygren. Randy's family said that he moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona, seven years ago to pursue his passion of boating. He especially loved night boating and star watching, they said. Randy was a restaurateur of 20 years. He opened and operated numerous outlets in Michigan. His family said that he inherited the gift of carpentry, taught to him by his father. Randy loved working with his hands and built numerous homes and furnishings. His final years were spent in Lake Havasu City, where he found great peace aboard his vessel out on the waterways, his family said. Randy is survived by his loving wife of 23 years Trudy Nygren; two sons, Matthew and Michael Nygren of Kalkaska, Michigan; three grandsons Tevin, Caleb and Andrew Nygren; father, Robert C. Nygren of Fowlerville, Michigan; brothers Vern of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Edward of Phoenix, Arizona, John of Costa Mesa, California; sisters Mary Ellen and husband Morse of Howell, Michigan, Robin Moore of Lake Havasu City, Arizona and Sue Iiams of Ontario, California; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary M. Nygren and sister Dawn Savage. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2005 at Dillingham, Liverance, Niblack Funeral Home in Fowlerville, Michigan. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 2, 2005. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery following the service. The family expressed thanks to Ellen Bush of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Randy's dear friend and companion in his final years. The family said, "Your loving care and attention were much appreciated."In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in Randy's name to Hospice of Havasu, P O Box 597, Lake Havasu City, Arizona 86405.
