John (Jack) Dunn

John "Jack" Dunn died May 25, 2009, in Prescott, Ariz. He was born Feb. 27 1934, in Newark, N.J. the son of Joseph and Agnes (Beck) Dunn.

Jack had a stellar Navy career. He enlisted as a 17 year old, always wanting to fly he qualified for the cadet flight program earning his wings at 20. During his 28 years of service he landed and served on many of the Navy's carriers; reaching the rank of Captain, he retired as head of the Navy Group at JUSMAG, Bangkok, Thailand. Jack career continued on as a program manager for the aerospace industry retiring and moving to Prescott in 1998.

Jack was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Prescott Camera Club, had served as a Score mentor and would have been President this year of the Prescott Noon Lions. He enjoyed photography, travel, his computer and his beloved cat. He was proudest of his service to the nation.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; four children; brother, Joseph (Myra); sisters, Edith Stanford and Agnes (Paul) Smyth and brother-in-law, John (Chris) Covault.

A Celebration Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 1, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fluery, Prescott, with full military honors by the United States Navy Honor Detail.
