| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Saturday, May 30, 2009 Barbara Joy Surrett, 81, a resident of Shadow Mountain Park in Prescott Valley, died May 28, 2009, at Mountain View Manor in Prescott. Barbara was a retired schoolteacher. A graduate of Arizona State University, she began her teaching career in the Roosevelt School District in Phoenix. She later transferred to the Glendale district, where she taught until her retirement in 1979. After moving to the Prescott Valley area, she continued teaching as a substitute in the Humboldt district. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Herb; son Gary of Phoenix; daughter Susan Moore of Phoenix; grandsons Tanner, currently in the U.S. Army, and Eric of Phoenix; granddaughter Jennifer of Phoenix; and great-granddaughters Emma and Jill. She is also survived by brothers Robert Fisackerly of Prescott Valley and David Cofield of Bellingham, Wash. Services were private. Memorial donations may be made to Yavapai Regional Medical Center Hospice, 3262 N. Windsong Dr., Prescott Valley, Ariz., 86314. Sunrise Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
